Corporal Punishment

We have released a paper on corporal punishment, co-authored with Associate Professor Divna Haslam from the School of Public Health at the University of Queensland and the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research.

Corporal punishment remains lawful across Australia. Our paper outlines why legislative change is necessary to better protect children from violence in the home. It also calls for broader public education and parenting support to promote safe and effective discipline strategies.
